OwensDDB come out top at ICAD awards
|
|
Last night Owens DDB were the toast of the ad industry where they emerged the clear winner at ICAD - Ireland's premier creative advertising and design awards
They took 7 gongs, including 2 silvers and 5 bronze spread across three clients and 4 categories. Silver Volkswagen 'Dog' Press. Silver Volkswagen 'Dog' Outdoor. Bronze Volkswagen 'Good News' Press. Bronze VFI Viral Campaign. Bronze Johnson Mooney & O'Brien 'Paddy & Jim' TV. Bronze Johnson Mooney & O'Brien 'Paddy & Jim' TV Campaign. Bronze Volkswagen 'Dog' TV.

Bristol Myers-Squibb scores in Advertising Effectiveness Awards
|

Not many people know about Peripheral Arterial Disease. Or at least they didn't until this above and below the line campaign ran late last year. The judges gave it a bronze and gave Volkswagen the only nomination in the motoring category. Pictured here Colette Lanagan - Managing Director, Bristol-Myers Squibb and our John. Owens net a few Sharks in Kinsale
|

|
4 gongs was the haul at the recent Shark awards.Volkswagen Polo "Dog Air conditioning' ad picked up 3 of them. One was in the international section. It's nice to be fighting it out with the big boys from around the World.

Avril Fagan Appointed, August 2008
|
|
|
Avril Fagan has joined the Owens DDB group to head up the newly formed Digitalworks division, specialising in digital advertising strategy and consultancy. Avril joins Digitalworks from Agency.com where she held the position of Account Director. Prior to that, Avril worked in Ireland’s Auto Trader and Pigsback.com in various digital sales and marketing roles. Avril is a graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology with a degree in marketing.

Mediaworks win internal creative competition.
|
|
Congratulations to Conor Hanover who won the champagne for our 'Spec ad' creative competition at our recent away day. The mission was to devise an ad for Viagra (which, in this brief, was now available over the counter!) Due to the subject matter we're not allowed to show you the ad in question. Booo!

The pub is calling!
|
|
|
Or should we say the Vintner's Federation of Ireland have just appointed Owens DDB/Mediaworks to handle their creative and media business which will involve a new campaign encouraging people to re-discover the craic of their local. And naturally we were never going to be slow to answer the call of the pub! The new creative will feature a humourous radio/print/viral campaign and will break in late May. Slainte!

New face in Account service
|

Stacey Keane has joined Owens DDB as Account Manager. Previously she's worked at Adept Advertising, Winston Marketing and at Young EuroRSCG.
This experience has given Stacey solid multi-discipline experience through the line in Advertising, Sales Promotion, Direct Marketing and Event Management.
Stacey holds a BSc in Management & Marketing.

OwensDDB Skills bag 2 at the "Excellence in Recruitment" awards
|
|
OwensDDB were nominated in 4 of the eight categories given out at the Weston Hotel on Thursday 17th of April and Rachel managed to bring home 2 gongs on the night. Both were for Sigmar. The first was in the Medical category and the second in Financial. Well done to Olive, Dave and Gordon, the creatives who worked on the campaigns.

Colin and Donal pick up a Silver Award for Volkswagen 'Pope's Car' at the Epica international Awards in Stockholm last month. By the look of things, they don't seem to have been too worried about the price of alcohol in Sweden!

Interlink, the next day parcel delivery experts, are changing their name to DPD. They've recruited us to handle the name change. Look out for our new Radio, Press, DM and Internet advertising. Christmas Party in Westport???
|

You need to understand something here... Last year it was Madrid.... The year before it was Munich... The year before that it was Barcelona. When we at OwensDDB and Mediaworks party, we like to do it in style. So when Paul Moran announced this year we'd be going to the 'Wesht' it wasn't expected. Rachel didn't possess wellies. And worse, Kathryn wasn't sure that Prada had a presence in Westport. As per usual though,we took comfort in the drink. And despite ourselves, a good time was had by all. Nice one Paul.

A big Welcome to Niamh Fahey who's just joined our Creative Department. Niamh, a graduate of the National College of Art&Design previously worked in Huguenot-xmi, where she held the position of Graphic Designer. Niamh will require a thick skin as she will be teaming up with the talented Olive Cogan who hails from the People's Republic of Cork!!!
